Unglaublich aber wahr – 2012 ist schon fast vorbei. War das Jahr kürzer oder kommt es uns nur so vor, weil wir bei Kaleidoscope besonders aktiv waren?

Auch wenn 2012 viel gelungen ist, besonders stolz sind wir auf smartQuery! Damit haben wir nicht nur eine neue Lösung, sondern auch eine völlig neue Software-Kategorie auf den Markt gebracht. Mit smartQuery erschließen Sie das Potential, das in den Rückfragen Ihrer Übersetzer steckt, hinsichtlich Qualität und Terminologie. Wie immer haben unsere Kunden mit ihren Ideen, Anregungen und Verbesserungsvorschläge dazu beigetragen. Dafür wollen wir uns hiermit ausdrücklich bedanken!

Danke für Ihre Ideen 2012 ...

Einen Trend konnten wir 2012 auch ausmachen: Immer mehr Kunden steigen auf SDL WorldServer um. Daher war WorldServer auch ein wichtiges Thema unserer erfolgreichen Roadshow. In Graz, Wels, Bregenz und Wien machten wir Station, um Sie über die Neuigkeiten zu den Themen Übersetzung, Terminologie und Redaktion zu informieren. Das Feedback der Teilnehmer war so überzeugend, dass wir auch nächstes Jahr wieder eine Roadshow veranstalten werden.

Zum Abschluss dieses Jahres haben wir auch unser Team erweitert: Bence Toth wird uns mit seinem Wissen als geprüfter Übersetzer und seiner Erfahrung in der Kundenbetreuung als Technical Sales & Product Manager tatkräftig unterstützen.

... und hoffentlich 2013

Seine Ideen werden auch in die neue Generation von smartQuery und globalReview einfließen. Sollten Sie für unsere Lösungen Wünsche, Ideen und Anregungen haben, würden wir uns über eine kleine E-Mail oder kurzen Anruf freuen! SDL Trados Studio 2011: Which innovations are here to stay?

SDL Trados Studio 2011 is available for some time now. So, let us check which innovations will prevail. Our conclusions: SDL Trados Studio 2011 eases the translation work, review, and project management. Besides the increased user-friendliness, we find following features noteworthy:

Track Changes – Simplify Collaboration

Trados Studio 2011 comes with a track change functionality that is fully compatible with the correspondent MS Word feature. Now, you have both complete control of all the changes and the possibility to accept or decline these changes. Due to the integrated SDL XLIFF Converter, you can even check, accept and decline changes and comments made in MS word in Trados and vice versa.

If you apply a new filter, you can only see the modified parts of the text. This filter simplifies collaboration and shortens reviewing time considerably.

SDL PerfectMatch 2.0 – Avoid Repetition

PerfectMatch recognizes already translated and approved parts in documents and blocks these segments. This feature is extremely useful if you are in the process of updating translated and approved documents or have to master last-minute changes. Thanks to PerfectMatch you never have to review the same sentence twice.

Users of the Freelance-Version are able to open and use PerfectMatches created with the Professional Version. They, however, cannot create their own PerfectMatches.

Microsoft Word Spell Checking – More accuracy & languages

You now can combine the leading spell checking of MS Word with SDL Trados Studio 2011. All terms of the MS Word Dictionary – even the manually added – are at your disposal in the new Studio version. Of course, you can continue to work with SDL spell checker Hunspell.

Improved QA-Checker

All error messages are easy to find in one designated window. Thus, it takes no time at all to locate the error. A correction (such as deleting a space) will be offered. A simple click on “change” eliminates the error.

New Filters – and a good old  friend

Trados Studio 2011 supports a realm of formats, such as OpenOffice, LibreOffice, StarOffice, etc. and - reintroduced - the classic bilingual Trados-Word-files in the “Workbench” format.
